Skull AP Axial Towne

Position: Skull AP Axial Towne

The Towne projection demonstrates the occipital bone, foramen magnum, and dorsum sellae. The beam is angled caudally to project facial bones inferiorly. This projection evaluates fractures and cranial pathology. Proper positioning prevents elongation of the skull. It is a core ARRT skull competency.
