Position: Left Lateral Decubitus Abdomen

The left lateral decubitus abdomen demonstrates free air under the right hemidiaphragm. A horizontal beam is essential. This projection is used when the patient cannot stand. It complements upright abdomen views. It is a standard ARRT requirement.
