Position: Open Mouth TMJ

The open mouth TMJ projection demonstrates condylar movement. It evaluates dislocation and joint dysfunction. Proper positioning ensures visualization of the condyle. This projection complements closed mouth TMJ. It is frequently tested on ARRT exams.
