Position: Patella Hughston
The Hughston projection demonstrates the patellofemoral joint. The knee is flexed 50 to 60 degrees with a cephalic beam angle. This projection evaluates subluxation and cartilage defects. Proper positioning prevents distortion. It is a recognized ARRT special view.
