Position: Lateral Retroperitoneum

The lateral retroperitoneum projection demonstrates retroperitoneal structures in profile. It evaluates masses and hemorrhage. Proper positioning prevents rotation. This projection complements AP retroperitoneum. It is used in trauma imaging.
