Position: Lateral Knee Trauma Horizontal Beam

The horizontal beam lateral knee projection demonstrates the knee in profile. It evaluates effusion and fractures. Proper positioning prevents rotation. This projection complements AP trauma knee. It is frequently tested on ARRT exams.
