Position: Lateral Femur Trauma Horizontal Beam

The horizontal beam lateral femur projection demonstrates the femur in profile. It evaluates fractures and soft tissue swelling. Proper positioning prevents rotation. This projection complements AP trauma femur. It is a core ARRT competency.
