Position: Esophagram Lateral
The lateral esophagram projection demonstrates the esophagus in profile. It is essential for evaluating motility disorders, strictures, and aspiration. Proper positioning prevents rotation and ensures the shoulders are posterior to the esophagus. This projection complements AP and oblique views. It is a standard ARRT fluoroscopy competency.
