Position: AP Axial Skull Towne

The Towne projection demonstrates the occipital bone and foramen magnum. A caudal angle projects facial bones inferiorly. This projection evaluates fractures and cranial base pathology. Proper positioning prevents elongation. It is frequently tested on ARRT exams.
