Position: Calcaneus Axial Plantodorsal
The axial calcaneus projection demonstrates the calcaneal tuberosity and subtalar joint. The foot is dorsiflexed while the beam is angled cephalad. This projection evaluates fractures and heel spurs. Proper positioning prevents elongation or distortion. It is a recognized ARRT special projection.
