Position: Mandible PA Axial
The PA axial mandible projection demonstrates the mandibular rami and body with reduced superimposition. The beam is angled caudally to open the TMJs. This projection evaluates fractures and alignment. Proper positioning prevents distortion. It is frequently tested on ARRT exams.
