Position: Facial Bones PA Axial

The PA axial facial bones projection demonstrates the orbits, nasal bones, and maxilla. The beam is angled caudally to project petrous ridges below the orbits. This projection evaluates fractures and sinus pathology. Proper positioning prevents orbital distortion. It is a standard ARRT competency.
