Position: Trauma Lateral Ankle

The trauma lateral ankle projection demonstrates the ankle in profile using a horizontal beam. It evaluates fractures and soft tissue swelling. Proper positioning prevents rotation. This projection complements AP views. It is a core ARRT competency.
